Research methods: Clinical research, Neuro-imaging, Gait analysis and Posturography, Neuromodulation

Brief research description: Our group focuses on the impact of sensorimotor control of posture and gait on recovery after peripheral and central lesions in the nervous system. We use structural and functional imaging, gait analysis, posturography and sensor based movement analysis to understand different movement disorders in neurological patients. We plan and conduct interventions to improve outcome after stroke and traumatic brain injury as well as after lesions in the vestibular and other sensory systems. We are a interdisciplinary research group between basic scientists, clinicians, and physical therapists. Among others, we have continious funding from the German Research Ministry (BMBF) and the EU.
