Further Information
Brief research description: RG "Clinical Deep Phenotyping (CDP)" and RG "Neuromodulation and multimodal neuroimaging" Our research group at the University Hospital of LMU Munich focuses on Clinical Deep Phenotyping (CDP) and Multimodal Neuroimaging. We employ a comprehensive, multimodal strategy to meticulously characterize individuals affected by severe mental illnesses and neurological disorders. This approach integrates diverse neuroimaging modalities, including advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques such as structural imaging, resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), arterial spin labeling (ASL), and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI). Electroencephalography (EEG) is also utilized. Furthermore, we incorporate non-invasive brain stimulation methods, notably transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), frequently in conjunction with fMRI, while emphasizing rigorous methodological approaches. Our investigations concentrate on elucidating the neural underpinnings of conditions such as Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders, Major Depressive Disorder, and Alzheimer's Disease. The primary objective is to deepen the understanding of the neurobiological basis of these conditions and to facilitate the development of personalized treatment strategies.
