Research Center for Neurophilosophy and Ethics of Neurosciences

The Research Center for Neurophilosophy and Ethics of Neurosciences is part of the philosophy department and the Munich Center for Neurosciences - Brain & Mind (MCN) at the LMU Munich. We investigate the philosophical implications of empirical findings in the cognitive sciences and initiate interdisciplinary research projects on philosophically relevant topics. We focus specifically on the areas of: moral psychology and practical philosophy, philosophy of mind and action, and philosophy of cognitive science (full list of current PhD projects). Through creating an interdisciplinary network of research we look to provide a stimulating environment for students and faculty to produce novel formulations of current concepts and theories.

The Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN-LMU) invites applications for several PhD scholarships in Neurophilosophy. Successful applicants will be affiliated with the Research Center for Neurophilosophy and Ethics of Neurosciences at the GSN.
